Resettlement from the Rogun flood zone is based on decisions and laws regarding internal resettlement issues. Legislation in the Republic of Tajikistan that relates to resettlement policy:
- Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan;
- Civil Code of the Republic of Tajikistan;
- Land Code of the Republic of Tajikistan;
- National Resettlement Policy – Decree No. 467 of October 1, 2008.Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated January 20, 2009 No. 47 “On the resettlement of the population of the Rogun city and Nurabad district from the flood zone of the Rogun hydro power plant”;
- World Bank Policy on Involuntary Resettlement (4.12);
The Directorate of the Rogun Flood Zone, in cooperation with committees, the ministry and authorized State departments, is making every effort to implement the resettlement process and provide better living conditions in new places of residence of the migrants.
